Sweet Memories!

I spent the holiday weekend in one of my absolute favorite places on earth.
State College, Pennsylvania ... more affectionately known as Happy Valley!

My husband and I met at Penn State. It was the first week of our senior year.
Returning there always brings new adventures and the sweetest of memories!

When we were dating, our favorite restaurant was The Train Station, located downtown on College Avenue. There was an actual train car at the entrance. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with lots of deep dark wood. It had the feel of an old pub. They always brought a big bowl of thick crusty pretzels to your table, along with a bowl of sweet dipping mustard. It was our place to hang out, have long talks and dream of the future!

The Train Station no longer exists. But we have this very sweet reminder that hangs in our home away from home. It's a copy of an ad that appeared in The Daily Collegian in 1978 for Valentine's Day at The Train Station. It was a gift from my daughter and her husband. I don't know how they ever found it, but we love it. Thanks Megan & Liam!

And thanks to my dear husband for a lovely Valentine's weekend!

I hope your Valentine's Day brings back the sweetest of memories and the
anticipation of many lovely moments to come!

Ah. Some of my fondest college memories center around good food. I'm so glad you have shared those memories.

What a sweet memento of a very special time in your lives. Sometimes its memories, such as those, that get us through the tough times.

Blessings,
